Report: Wenger looks to overhaul Arsenal attack with Morata signing

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has pegged striker Alvaro Morata as one of his top transfer targets as he looks to rebuild his squad in the summer, according to The Telegraph's Matt Law.

Morata, whom Wenger tried to sign two years ago, could return to Real Madrid after a two-year stay at Juventus. Madrid is expected to exercise its £23-million buy-back clause on the Spain international, but it could look to sell him outright for a profit.

Law notes that Juventus could yet offer an improved deal to keep Morata, who has scored 25 goals in 87 appearances for the Bianconeri. But Arsenal's good relationship with Madrid could also pave the way for Wenger to finally get his man.

The Gunners are reportedly prepared to pay more than £30 million to land the 23-year-old. Meanwhile, they are ready to listen to offers for winger Theo Walcott, as Wenger begins to reassess his options in attack.
