Baylor's Seth Russell suffers fractured bone in neck
Baylor quarterback Seth Russell exited Saturday's game versus Iowa State late in the fourth quarter with an injury, which was later revealed to be a fractured bone in his neck.
Russell is expected to see a specialist next week and the timetable for his return is unknown.
Freshman Jarrett Stidham replaced Russell and threw a 12-yard touchdown on his lone pass of the game. The Bears defeated the Cyclones 45-27 and are headed into a bye week.
Baylor head coach Art Briles said he was "unsure" if Russell would be available for Baylor's next game. Luckily for the Bears, they have a week off before playing Kansas State on Nov. 5.
"We're going to evaluate Seth in the next few days," Briles said. "If he's cleared, he'll play, because he's a tough hombre now."
