Second-ranked Oregon has opened as a seven-point favorite to win the national title game over fourth-ranked Ohio State.

According to R.J. Bell of Pregame.com, Alabama would have opened as favorites to win the title game had they won the Sugar Bowl.

Savvy bettors could have gotten in on Ohio State at 50-to-1 odds to win the national title back in August, when Braxton Miller's injury happened.

In its only appearance in the national title game, Oregon fell to Auburn, 22-19 back in 2011.

Ohio State is 1-2 all-time in designated national championship games.
