Michigan's Khalid Hill out for season with torn ACL

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan tight end Khalid Hill won't play again this season after the team announced the redshirt freshman tore his ACL prior to Saturday's game vs. Penn State.

It's the second player Michigan has lost for an extended amount of time in one week, after Derrick Green broke his clavicle.

Michigan coach Brady Hoke said Hill sustained the injury in practice.

"This is an unfortunate situation for Khalid, and he will be missed on the field. We will support him through this process and look forward to his return," said Hoke.

The 6-foot-2, 252-pounder caught four passes for 37 yards this season as a backup tight end.

Former five-star high school recruit Jabrill Peppers also missed Saturday's contest. The freshman is currently recovering from a leg injury, but the team hasn't said anything about the injury.

Receiver Jehu Chesson was not in the lineup Saturday either. The sophomore has made 13 catches for 151 yards, good enough for second on the team.
