Chuck Cook-USA TODAY Sports

John Harbaugh is not expected the take the head coaching job at Michigan should it be offered.

Sources reported yesterday that Michigan is highly interested in the current Baltimore Ravens coach, preferring him over his brother Jim Harbaugh, the former Wolverines quarterback and current coach of the San Francisco 49ers.

However, "a source with knowledge of the situation" told the Baltimore Sun that John Harbaugh won't be inclined to pursue the job.

Fans called for Michigan coach Brady Hoke`s firing after back-to-back losses to unranked opponents. Hoke came under further fire Sunday over comments he made regarding quarterback Shane Morris, who was suspected to have suffered a head injury. Morris re-entered the game against Minnesota, drawing ire toward's the coach's decision-making by critics.

Harbaugh hasn't yet commented on being linked to Michigan. He also recently denied that he was at odds with the Ravens front office over whether running back Ray Rice should have immediately been released from the team after domestic violence allegations.

In seven seasons with the Ravens, the coach has gone 65-35, accumulating a 9-4 record in the playoffs.

Harbaugh graduated from Pioneer High School in Ann Arbor, while his dad, Jack Harbaugh, was an assistant coach under the legendary Bo Schembechler.
