Notre Dame's Everett Golson falls one short of tying NCAA record for most consecutive completions in a game
Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports
Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson nearly tied an NCAA Div 1 record Saturday night when he completed his 25th consecutive pass in a game against Syracuse.
On his 26th attempt, Golson threw an incompletion to receiver Corey Robinson. The Irish (4-0) defeated the Orange (2-2) 31-15.
The effort was enough to give Golson Notre Dame's program record for consecutive completions in a game.
East Carolina's Dominique Davis still owns the NCAA Div 1 record for most consecutive completions in a game. He threw 26 against Navy on October 22, 2011.
