Report: Oklahoma State's J.W. Walsh could be out for season following foot surgery
While the Oklahoma State Cowboys have yet to comment on reports that quarterback J.W. Walsh underwent surgery on Thursday, more details are starting to trickle in and it doesn't sound good.
Walsh could be in danger of missing the rest of the season following the surgery, according to a report from Tulsa World. Original reports estimated that Walsh would be out between six-to-eight weeks.
The reason for surgery has not been released, although it is believed to have been done to repair a soft-tissue injury in Walsh's right foot. Initial reports indicated that Walsh had suffered a fractured foot, but that does not appear to be the case.
With Walsh sidelined for at least the foreseeable future, redshirt junior Daxx Garman is expected to start at quarterback. He went 16-of-26 for 244 yards with two touchdowns after relieving Walsh in the Cowboys 40-23 victory over Missouri State on Saturday.
