The ACC will eliminate divisions starting in 2023 and move to a 3-5-5 scheduling structure, the conference announced Tuesday.

Under the new format from 2023-26, each team will play three primary opponents every year and face the other 10 teams twice over a four-year cycle, with the matchup alternating between home and away.

With the loss of the Atlantic and Coastal divisions, the two top teams in the conference (based on conference winning percentage) will meet in the ACC championship game on the first Saturday of December.

Commissioner Jim Phillips said the scheduling model will provide "significant enhancements" for the schools and conference, pointing to student-athletes' ability to compete against every school during the four-year format.
