Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson has won the 2016 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award.

The award is given to the top graduating quarterback each year, and although Watson is only a junior, he'll receive his undergraduate degree on Dec. 15.

The star pivot led Clemson to its second straight ACC championship this season, finishing the campaign with 3,914 passing yards and 37 touchdowns. Not just a threat through the air, Watson also added 200 yards with five scores on the ground.

He beat out Washington State's Luke Falk, Oklahoma's Baker Mayfield, North Carolina's Mitch Trubisky, and Texas Tech's Patrick Mahomes for the honor.

The award has been handed out since 1987 and goes to a college senior or fourth-year junior that will graduate on time. While on-field performance is the major component, the award also takes into account character, citizenship, scholastic achievement, and leadership qualities.

Clemson faces Ohio State on New Year's Eve, looking to advance to its second straight national championship game.
