The tragic death of Nebraska punter Sam Foltz following a car accident Saturday that also took the life of former Michigan State punter Mike Sadler, has sent shock waves through the communities and people that knew and loved each young man, especially Kevin Sjuts.

Sjuts is the sports director at KOLN/KGIN-TV out of Lincoln, Neb., and knew Foltz on a personal level. Sjuts paid tribute to Foltz by speaking on-air about the impact he had on himself, his family, and more importantly, Sjuts' seven-year-old son.

Sjuts told a brief story about how his son had invited Foltz into his first-grade classroom as part of their "super-hero week," and how Foltz signed autographs and joked with the kids during his time in the classroom.

"I am priviledged to have known Sam Foltz," Sjuts said as he concluded his broadcast.

"He was great on the field, but better off of it, so much better. I can only hope my son, one day, can stand for all the things that Sam Foltz did."
