NCAA Game Summary - Iowa at Nebraska

Lincoln, NE (SportsNetwork.com) - Mark Weisman ran for a pair of touchdowns and Jake Rudock threw for two scores, leading Iowa to a 38-17 victory over Nebraska at Memorial Stadium.

The Hawkeyes (8-4, 5-3 Big Ten) never trailed and converted a trio of Nebraska turnovers into 14 points and doubled their win total from a year ago. Rudock completed 9-of-15 passes for 126 yards and Weisman ran for 72 in the victory.

Senior Ron Kellogg III made his first career start at quarterback for Nebraska on senior day with injuries to Taylor Martinez and Tommy Armstrong Jr. Kellogg completed 19-of-37 passes for 199 yards with a touchdown and a pair of interceptions.

Ameer Abdullah ran for 85 yards with a score for the Cornhuskers (8-4, 5-3), who lost two their last three home games and finished with three home losses for the first time since 2007.

Kellogg was intercepted on Nebraska's first two possessions, but the Hawkeyes managed to convert only the second into points. The second pick gave Iowa the ball at the Nebraska 25 and it took the Hawkeyes seven plays to reach the end zone on Rudock's 10-yard toss to CJ Fiedorowicz.

Nebraska started two second-quarter possessions inside its own five and the second led to a punt that the Hawkeyes turned into another touchdown. Weisman capped a 41-yard series with a 1-yard run for a 14-0 lead.

Pat Smith kicked a 33-yard field goal to put Nebraska on the board in the final minute of the half and Abdullah finished a 75-yard drive to open the third quarter with a 5-yard TD run to make it 14-10.

Mike Meyer kicked a 31-yard field goal on Iowa's first possession of the third quarter and a fake punt by Nebraska on the next series failed to yield a first down, giving Iowa the ball at the Huskers' 24. Rudock extended the lead on the very next play with a TD strike to Kevonte Martin-Manley.

Kellogg found Quincy Enunwa with a 15-yard touchdown pass on fourth down early in the fourth quarter to again pull the Huskers within seven and Nebraska got the ball back after an Iowa punt. Abdullah, though, fumbled on the next play to give Iowa possession at the Nebraska 39 and Weisman followed Jordan Canzeri's 37-yard run with a 2-yard TD burst to make it 31-17.

C.J. Beathard added a 4-yard touchdown run late to account for the final margin.
