NCAA Game Summary - Georgia vs. Florida

Jacksonville, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Todd Gurley scored two touchdowns in his return to action to lead the Georgia Bulldogs to a narrow 23-20 victory over the Florida Gators in an SEC Eastern Division clash at EverBank Field.

Gurley, who had missed the previous three games with an ankle injury, rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown and also picked up another 87 yards and a score on three receptions. Aaron Murray completed 16-of-25 passes for 258 yards and a touchdown as the Bulldogs (5-3, 4-2 SEC) won for the first time since Oct. 5.

Tyler Murphy rushed for a touchdown and was 13-of-29 for 174 yards, including an 83-yard touchdown pass to Quinton Dunbar (four receptions, 91 yards). Mack Brown rushed nine times for 41 yards, including a touchdown that started a second-half comeback effort for the Gators (4-4, 3-3 SEC) that fell just short.

The Bulldogs dominated the first half, beginning with two touchdowns from Gurley -- a run from five yards out less than three minutes into the game and 73-yard reception a few minutes later.

Marshall Morgan added a 49-yard field goal before the end of the quarter to put Georgia on top 17-0 out of the gate.

Morgan would tack on another three points to the Bulldogs' lead with a 27-yard field goal in the first minute of the second quarter.

The Gators got their first points of the game five minutes into the quarter on a 32-yard field goal by Francisco Velez. This would be Florida's only successful field goal of the afternoon on three attempts.

Morgan struck again with a field goal from 32 yards out as time expired in the first half to put Georgia up 20 heading into intermission.

A Murray fumble midway through the third quarter proved to be a turning point for Florida, who opened up the second-half scoring with a Brown five- yard touchdown run at the 6:21 mark of the third quarter.

With just under two minutes to go in the third, the Gators' Loucheiz Purifoy sacked Murray for a safety as they inched closer.

Murphy scrambled for a 14-yard touchdown run in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, then connected on a two-point conversion pass to Clay Burton, pulling the Gators to within a field goal, 23-20.

Georgia's defense came up with a third-down sack on Florida's next possession, forcing the Gators to punt, and the Bulldogs got the ball back with 8:29 left on the clock, the entirety of which they were able to keep the ball and hold on for a victory.

The Bulldogs have won three straight over Florida for their first three-game winning streak in the series since 1987-89.
