NCAA Game Summary - Iowa vs. LSU
Tampa, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jeremy Hill rushed for a career-high 216 yards and two touchdowns to lead No. 14 LSU to a 21-14 win over Iowa, in the 28th annual Outback Bowl.
After losing senior quarterback Zach Mettenberger in the final game of the season to a torn ACL, the Tigers (10-3) were forced to rely heavily on Hill and a defensive unit that forced three turnovers (two interceptions, one fumble).
Freshman quarterback Anthony Jennings struggled in his first career start, completing just 7-of-19 passes for 82 yards and an interception.
With the victory, LSU set a school record with its fourth straight season with at least 10 wins.
Jake Rudock started the game under center for the Hawkeyes (8-5), but left the game in the second half with an apparent leg injury. He was 9-for-22 passing for 102 yards and an interception before exiting.
C.J. Beathard replaced Rudock and threw for 55 yards and a score on 4-of-7 passing, and Mark Weisman rushed for a score for Iowa, which had won three straight entering the contest.
