NCAA Game Summary - Wyoming at Utah State

Logan, UT (SportsNetwork.com) - Darrell Garretson threw for three touchdowns as the Utah State Aggies claimed a 35-7 triumph over the Wyoming Cowboys in a Mountain West Conference finale at Romney Stadium.

Garretson completed 20-of-29 pass attempts for 156 yards and was also intercepted once for Utah State (8-4, 7-1 MWC) , which earned a spot in the MWC Championship game with the victory. Joey DeMartino rushed for 112 yards and a score on 20 carries for the Aggies, who had nine different receivers record a catch.

Wyoming (5-7, 3-5) lost out on bowl eligibility with the loss. Brett Smith threw for 162 yards and had a touchdown to match an interception on 16-of-29 passing. Dominic Rufran brought in four of those passes for 92 yards and a score.

Wyatt Houston got things started for the Aggies when he scored on a six-yard touchdown pass from Garretson midway through the first quarter.

Bruce Natson extended the lead with a 64-yard punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter and DeMartino added a one-yard rushing score just before the break.

Natson scored on a six-yard touchdown pass midway through the third quarter and Brandon Swindall also had a six-yard touchdown reception in the period.

Wyoming's only score of the game came on a 60-yard touchdown pass from Smith to Rufran early in the fourth quarter.

Utah State finished with 310 total yards while holding the Cowboys to only 190. The Aggies were especially dominant against the run, letting up on 28 yards on 29 carries.
