NCAA Game Summary - Eastern Michigan at Toledo

Toledo, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Terrance Owens threw for 375 yards and three touchdowns as the Toledo Rockets crushed the Eastern Michigan Eagles, 55-16, in Mid-American Conference action at the Glass Bowl.

Owens completed 18-of-24 passes for the Rockets (6-3, 4-1 MAC) as they won their fourth straight game and the sixth in the last seven outings. Running back Kareem Hunt produced a game-high 168 yards and scored twice as Toledo generated 334 yards and four TDs on the ground overall.

The Eagles (1-8, 0-5), losers of eight straight since defeating Howard in the season opener, were paced by Brogan Roback who converted half of his 22 pass attempts for 209 yards and two TDs, but he was sacked twice and intercepted once.

Toledo opened the meeting on a 28-0 scoring run and never looked back. Owens started it off with passing touchdowns of seven and 47 yards to Alex Zmolik and Dwight Macon, respectively, followed by a 30-yard TD run by Damion Jones- Moore at the 5:21 mark of the first quarter.

Early in the second frame Hunt's two-yard touchdown run capped off a 14-play, 74-yard drive.

EMU finally landed on the scoreboard midway through the second period when Dylan Mulder converted a 41-yard field goal.

Barely a minute later the Rockets were back on the attack, more specifically it was Hunt who was racing into the end zone from 39 yards out.

Roback then engineered a 10-play, 76-yard drive for the Eagles, culminating with a 16-yard TD catch by Dustin Creel to make the score 35-10.

However, before the half could end, Toledo tacked on a 20-yard field goal by Jeremiah Detmer. The kicker also knocked through an identical field goal in the third to give the home team a 41-10 edge.

With just under six minutes to play in the third quarter, Owens hooked up with Justin Olack on an 80-yard TD pass play to create a 38-point advantage.

The Eagles refused to pack it in however, eventually scoring on a three-yard pass from Roback to Ryan Brumfield in the fourth, but a two-point conversion attempt failed, leaving the visitors to a large deficit with more than 11 minutes left to play.

Marc Remy finished off a wildly successful night for the Rockets with a nine- yard touchdown run as he helped the team produce a massive 729 yards of total offense, compared to just 309 yards for Eastern Michigan.

The Rockets played without the MAC's leading rusher, David Fluellen (1,067 yards), as he watched from the sidelines due to a lower left leg injury.
