NCAA Game Summary - Iowa State at Kansas State

Manhattan, KS (SportsNetwork.com) - John Hubert ran for 105 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries to lead the Kansas State Wildcats over the Iowa State Cyclones, 41-7, in a Big 12 Conference bout at Snyder Stadium.

For the Wildcats (4-4, 2-3 Big 12), Jake Waters threw for 157 yards on 9-of-15 passing. Daniel Sams added 64 passing yards and a score on 4-of-5 completions. Sams also ran for 57 yards and touchdown on 13 carries. Tyler Lockett grabbed five receptions for 72 yards while Tramaine Thompson added 71 yards and a score on three receptions.

Grant Rohach threw for 88 yards and two interceptions on 11-of-24 passing for the Cyclones (1-7, 0-5). DeVondrick Nealy was the leading rusher with just 53 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. Dondre Daley was the top receiver with 26 yards on four receptions, as the Cyclones lost its fifth straight game.

With under nine minutes to play in the first quarter, the Wildcats found the end zone first when Hubert ran it in from nine yards out. After a 44-yard field goal made it a 10-0 Kansas State lead with 4:41 to play in the opening quarter, the Wildcats scored again, this time with a one-yard touchdown run by Sams that gave the home team a 17-0 lead going into halftime.

The Wildcats added a 42-yard field goal by Jack Cantele on their opening drive of the second half that was the only scoring of the third quarter.

Kansas State scored on three straight drives in the fourth quarter to take a commanding lead. First, Hubert ran it in from three yards out early in the frame. Then Sams connected with Thompson for a 28-yard touchdown pass. Finally, Robert Rose finished the Wildcats' scoring on the day with a 10-yard touchdown run.

After Iowa State recovered a Rose fumble deep in Kansas State terriory, Nealy scored on a 10-yard touchdown run that ruined the shutout attempt and set the final score at 41-7.

The Wildcats finished the day converting 7-of-15 third downs while holding the Cyclones to just 4-of-15. Kansas State outgained Iowa State in total offense, 448-249.
