NCAA Game Summary - Boston College at North Carolina

Chapel Hill, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryn Renner threw a pair of touchdown passes to help the North Carolina Tar Heels pick up a 34-10 victory over the Boston College Eagles in Atlantic Coast Conference action at Kenan Stadium.

Renner completed 18-of-21 pass attempts for 227 yards while sharing time with backup Marquise Williams for North Carolina (2-5, 1-3 ACC). Williams threw for 55 yards and a score on 4-of-8 passing and also rushed for a team-high 55 yards and an additional touchdown.

Andre Williams totaled 172 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries for Boston College (3-4, 1-3) while Chase Retting connected on 10-of-20 passes for just 57 yards.

The Eagles lost a fumble on their first possession which set up the Tar Heels for a 14-yard touchdown pass from Renner to Ryan Switzer. However the extra point attempt would fail.

Boston College responded and claimed its only lead midway through the first quarter on a 56-yard touchdown run from Williams.

Early in the second quarter the Tar Heels would reclaim the lead for good with a one-yard touchdown run from A.J. Blue.

The next score for the Tar Heels came through the air as Renner completed a 10-yard touchdown pass to Johnathan Howard.

The Tar Heels gained a 27-7 lead with a 17-yard touchdown pass from Williams to Howard late in the third quarter.

Williams scored on his own on a four-yard touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter.

After failing to score in the second and third quarters, Boston College finally ended the drought with a 38-yard field goal from Nate Freese with just over two minutes left in regulation.
