Hawaii was handed a ban from postseason play and several other sanctions after former coach Gib Arnold was deemed to have violated "ethical conduct rules and did not promote an atmosphere for compliance in his program," according to the NCAA.

The NCAA announced the decision Tuesday, which also includes putting the program on three years of probation, a three-year show cause for Arnold, a two-year show cause for an assistant, reduction of scholarships, the vacating of several wins, a reduction of countable activity hours, and a self-imposed $10,000 fine from the school.

Some of the violations that led to the sanctions were Arnold being aware of the director of basketball operations helping coach the team, which is a violation. The NCAA also claimed Arnold did not report an incident of a player using a booster's car.

Arnold coached the Rainbow Warriors from 2010-14.
