Kyle Wiltjer calls out troll for deleting anti-Gonzaga tweet

Kevin Jairaj-USA TODAY Sports

For the first time since 1999, Gonzaga is off to the Elite Eight, having defeated UCLA in the Sweet Sixteen on Friday.

Many didn't believe that would happen earlier in the year, even when the Bulldogs earned a 2-seed for the tournament, making them a prohibitive favorite to get at least this far. Even after an impressive opening weekend, the trolls were out on social media, trying to throw shade on an excited 'Zags squad.

Kyle Wiltjer isn't one to forget, and after the team punched their ticket for Sunday's action, he called out someone who had said Gonzaga wouldn't get this far and later deleted the tweet.

The tweet from "Noe Quezada" was in response to this post from Wiltjer:

Funny as it may be to call a troll out, quezada0101's mentions have blown up, and it's likely been an annoying day. While there's something to be said for keeping fans - and haters - honest, doing it in this manner seems a little unnecessary.

And besides, Wiltjer's performance - 55 points, 25 rebounds and six assists through three tournament games - is speaking volumes on its own.
