Each day of the NCAA tournament theScore's staff will highlight the biggest games and best matchups that deserve to get your attention. We will let you know when to watch and where you can tune in.

3 games to watch

Midwest Region: No. 12 Buffalo vs. No. 5 West Virginia, 2:10 p.m. ET on TNT

Buffalo comes in as the lower seed and heavy underdog, but this matchup may provide basketball fans with their first real opportunity to witness an upset in Friday's slate of games.

While their regular-season schedule was nowhere near as difficult as the one West Virginia faced, the Bulls were up to the task in the two most difficult matchups of the year, keeping things close against both Kentucky and Wisconsin.

After the Big 12 teams' struggles on Thursday, all eyes will be on West Virginia to avoid yet another upset.

West Region: No. 9 Oklahoma State vs. No. 8 Oregon, 6:50 p.m. ET on TBS

An even matchup is what we all want to see when two teams so closely seeded take to the court early on in tournament action, and that's exactly what we'll get with Oklahoma State taking on Oregon.

With neither team having much size in the front court, each has become heavily reliant on the perimeter game.

An impressive late-season run may see the Ducks enter their opening game in more of a rhythm, thus holding somewhat of an advantage, but this should be another matchup that comes right down to the final shot either way.

East Region: No. 14 Albany vs. No. 3 Oklahoma, 7:27 p.m. ET on truTV

Following the Big 12's horrendous showing on Thursday, there's suddenly some added pressure on Oklahoma in their matchup with No. 14 Albany.

The odds are heavily in the Sooners' favor in nearly all areas of this game, but as we've already seen several times, anything can happen in March.

After Iowa State and Baylor both suffered crushing opening-game defeats, can Oklahoma live up to expectations and avoid becoming the third No. 3 seed to go one-and-done in this year's tournament?

Matchup to watch

Northern Iowa F Seth Tuttle vs. Wyoming F Larry Nance Jr.

Senior forwards Seth Tuttle and Larry Nance Jr. each lead their respective teams in scoring and should draw one another in defensive assignments more often than not.

No. 5 Northern Iowa has the advantage heading in, but Nance Jr. getting the best of Tuttle would go a long way toward Wyoming's chance of continuing their recent run of success and pulling off the upset.
