VIDEO: Zach Auguste throws down furious alley-oop
Zach Auguste has a habit of breaking hearts and hurting the rim.
In Notre Dame's Sweet Sixteen matchup versus Wichita State, Auguste continued his perfect 6-for-6 shooting from the field late in the game, but it was the last one that shook the building.
Auguste took the alley-oop from Jerian Grant and nailed it down with authority, spurring the Irish's ensuing 10-0 run.
Initially it appeared that Wichita State freshman Rashard Kelly could have had a shot at breaking up the alley-oop attempt as both he and Auguste were in position at the same time.
This second view gives a good idea of just how close Kelly came to keeping the ball out of Auguste's hands. However, the Notre Dame forward was able to extend over his opponent and grab the rock at its apex.
Kelly and Auguste's bumped bodies at the rim, but the contact wasn't enough to dissuade Auguste's momentum and he was able to finish with the emphatic flush and arguably the play of the day.
