Report: Colorado State transfer Octeus denied admission to UCLA

Ron Chenoy / USA Today Sports

Colorado State transfer Jon Octeus was supposed to be a starter for UCLA come the fall. Instead, the point guard has been denied admission to UCLA, according to The Coloradoan.

"Grades prevented him from getting into graduate school," the report says.

Octeus, who graduated during the summer and has one season of NCAA eligibility remaining, averaged 13.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game with Colorado State last season.

"And life goes on...." Octeus tweeted late Sunday night.

Wherever he ends up, Octeus will be eligible to play next season.

The 6-foot-4, 170-pound guard had previously visited Missouri and Cincinnati, and had been recruited by Tennessee. Oregon could be looking for his services as well, according to The Coloradoan.
