Watch: Xavier puts on magic show in final 30 seconds of 1st half

Stan Szeto-USA TODAY Sports

The first 19:30 of the opening half between Gonzaga and Xavier went largely according to plan, as the eight-point favorite Bulldogs held a 10-point advantage.

But the last 30 seconds produced two of the craziest baskets of the tournament, even if one didn't end up counting.

The first saw Gonzaga's Johnathan Williams pound the ball into the hardwood while pulling down the rebound off a Trevon Bluiett miss, only to have it ricochet off him and into the hoop for an unlikely two points.

The next Xavier possession produced an equally improbable moment, as J.P. Macura drilled a 75-footer as time expired.

The basket was overturned upon review, as he released the ball just after the buzzer, but it feels like he should at least get a point for the miraculous feat.
