Memphis' Chad Rykhoek out 6-8 weeks with dislocated ankle
Memphis forward Chad Rykhoek is in the midst of a good news-bad news sort of scenario pertaining to the remainder of his senior season.
First, the bad news:
Rykhoek is expected to miss 6-8 weeks with a dislocated ankle suffered Sunday against Oklahoma. Rykhoek had to be stretchered off the court, and the injury put the remainder of his season, and subsequently his career, in doubt.
Now, the good news:
Tigers head coach Tubby Smith said he expects Rykhoek to return to the Memphis lineup this season, according to Peter Fleischer of FOX13Memphis. Rykhoek's return would allow him to end his college career on a positive note, and would give the Tigers a boost in their frontcourt.
Rykhoek is averaging 5.9 points and 2.6 rebounds in 16 minutes on the season.
