NCAA Game Summary - Quinnipiac vs. Manhattan

Springfield, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - George Beamon finished with 25 points as the Manhattan Jaspers ran past Quinnipiac 87-68 to advance to the championship round of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Tournament at MassMutual Center.

The second-seeded Jaspers (24-7) will face top-seed Iona on Monday in a rematch of last year's title bout. Emmy Andujar tallied 21 points and Rhamel Brown had 16 points, nine rebounds and four blocks for Manhattan.

Ike Azotam netted 18 points and secured 10 rebounds for third-seed Quinnipiac (20-11). Zaid Hearst contributed 15 points and Kasim Chandler logged 14 points and seven assists.

The Jaspers forced 10 turnovers and sank 44.4 percent from the floor in the first half. However, the Bobcats made up for their miscues by shooting 59.1 percent, as the game went into the break tied at 40-40.

Manhattan dominated the second half to secure the win. The Jaspers hit on 57.7 percent from the field, including 6-of-9 from 3-point range, while holding Quinnipiac to 33.3 percent shooting in the final 20 minutes.

Quinnipiac, which led the nation in rebounding this season, had a rare deficit on the boards (37-34). The Bobcats were also outscored 21-14 off of turnovers.
