NCAA Game Summary - Georgia Southern vs. Chattanooga

Asheville, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Tre Bussey scored 17 points as the seventh-seeded Georgia Southern Eagles knocked off the second-seeded Chattanooga Mocs 62-55 in the quarterfinals of the Southern Conference Tournament at U.S. Cellular Center.

Jelani Hewitt tacked on 12 points and Brian Holmes had 10 for Georgia Southern (15-18), which moves on to face either Wofford or The Citadel in the semifinals, depending on the outcome of that contest.

Z. Mason had a game-high 21 points and Casey Jones netted 12 for Chattanooga (18-14). Gee McGhee cleared 12 boards, but had only four points on 2-of-8 shooting.

The Mocs led 27-24 at halftime after limiting the Eagles to 36 percent shooting during the first half.

Georgia Southern erupted after halftime, sinking 50 percent from the floor and 12-of-14 at the free-throw line. Chattanooga couldn't keep pace, shooting opnly 41.7 percent and getting just six tries at the charity stripe.

The Eagles had a 15-6 scoring edge off of turnovers.
