NCAA Game Summary - Troy at South Alabama

Mobile, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Augustine Rubit tallied 22 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two blocks to lead the South Alabama Jaguars to a 86-78 triumph over the Troy Trojans in Sun Belt Conference action at the Mitchell Center.

Ken Williams shot 4-of-8 from 3-point range en route to 18 points for South Alabama (9-18, 3-11 Sun Belt), which has won two of three. Antoine Allen netted 15 points for the hosts, while Barrington Stevens and Mychal Ammons poured in 11 points apiece.

For Troy (9-17, 4-10), Hunter Williams led all scorers with 24 points, Antoine Myers and Tevin Calhoun each had 14 points and Jeff Mullahey logged 11 points, eight rebounds and five assists.

South Alabama set the tone early, as it outshot Troy from the field in the first half, 54.3 percent to 28 percent, and led comfortably at intermission, 45-24.

The Trojans battled back in the second half and brought their deficit to just six points with under six minutes to play, but they would get no closer. The Jaguars kept Troy at bay by making 12-of-17 from the free-throw line over the final 20 minutes.

South Alabama won the rebounding battle, 39-31, and outscored Troy in the paint, 40-24.
