NCAA Game Summary - Denver at North Dakota State

Fargo, ND (SportsNetwork.com) - Taylor Braun had 16 points and seven rebounds as the North Dakota State Bison defeated the Denver Pioneers, 78-68, in a Summit League clash at Bison Sports Arena.

Jordan Aaberg scored 13 points for the Bison (23-6, 12-2 Summit), who extended their winning streak to seven games. Lawrence Alexander, Kory Brown and Marshall Bjorklund each finished with 12 points and Trayvonn Wright added 11 and four blocks.

Brett Olson netted 20 points for the Pioneers (15-14, 8-6), who have lost two straight. Nate Engesser chipped in 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, while Chris Udofia logged 10 points and seven assists before fouling out.

NDSU shot 54.6 percent from the field in the first half as it led 27-22 at the break. Denver made 42.1 percent of its field goal attempts and only 2-of-7 at the free-throw line.

The Bison came out of the half hot and drained 71.4 percent of their field goal tries and went 20-of-23 at the free-throw line in the second period. The Pioneers connected on 48.2 percent of their shots from the floor, including 11-of-20 from 3-point range. Despite Denver's 3-point barrage, NDSU maintained its lead for the entire second frame and cruised to the win.

NDSU dominated play inside as it outscored the Pioneers 44-10 in the paint and produced a 32-19 rebounding advantage as well.
