Pocatello, ID (SportsNetwork.com) - Quinton Upshur poured in a game-high 28 points and Kris Yanku connected on the game-winning free throw with six seconds left, as the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks outlasted the Idaho State Bengals, 66-65, in a Big Sky Conference clash at Reed Gym.

For Idaho State (10-16, 7-10), losers of three straight, Tomas Sanchez had 17 points, Andre Hatchett netted 13, Chris Hansen scored 12 and Jeffrey Solarin tallied a double-double with 11 points and 11 boards.

NAU shot 42.3 percent from the field in the first half, slightly better than Idaho State's 40 percent, but the Bengals outscored the Lumberjacks at the foul line, 10-4. The teams went into the halftime locker room knotted up at 31.

The Lumberjacks gained some separation midway through the frame, as they led by 10 with under nine minutes to go, but the Bengals would not go quietly, chipping away at their deficit until Andre Hatchett tied the game at 65 with 23 seconds left following a 1-of-2 trip to the foul line. Yanku had a steal with six seconds left and was fouled, and he drained the first free-throw attempt to put NAU on top. Idaho State failed to get a final shot off before the buzzer.

NAU overcame a dreadful night from the free-throw line (6-of-14) by winning the rebounding battle, 37-27, and outscoring Idaho State from 3-point range, 24-12.
