NCAA Game Summary - Tennessee Tech at Eastern Kentucky

Richmond, KY (SportsNetwork.com) - Glenn Cosey and Tarius Johnson netted 20 points apiece as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels defeated the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, 74-67, in an Ohio Valley Conference matchup at McBrayer Arena.

Corey Walden added 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the floor for the Colonels (20-9, 10-5 OVC), while Eric Stutz contributed 12 points and six rebounds.

For TTU (15-15, 8-7), Jeremiah Samarrippas tallied 22 points and seven assists. Josiah Moore provided a spark off the bench with 12 points. Dennis Ogbe and Javon McKay scored 10 points each as the Golden Eagles had their two- game winning streak snapped.

The Golden Eagles took a 30-28 lead into the intermission after they connected on 57.1 percent of their field goal attempts in the first stanza. EKU managed to make only 41.2 percent of its shots from the floor before the break, but kept it close by forcing 11 turnovers and converting 12-of-14 tries at the charity stripe.

The Colonels heated up to drain 56.7 percent of their field goal attempts and turned the ball over only once in the second period. TTU cooled off to shoot 43.5 percent from the floor after the intermission.

Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles enjoyed a 29-20 edge in the rebounding battle. EKU finished with a 36-18 advantage in points in the paint.
