NCAA Game Summary - Cal State Northridge at Hawaii

Honolulu, HI (SportsNetwork.com) - Isaac Fotu netted 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors cruised to a 77-63 victory over the Cal State Northridge Matadors in a Big West Conference clash at Stan Sheriff Center.

Brandon Spearman scored 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds for Hawaii (15-6, 4-3 Big West). Garrett Nevels also chipped in 15 points and dished out four assists in the win. The Rainbow Warriors have won four of their last five games.

Stephan Hicks scored a team-high 18 points with seven rebounds for Cal State Northridge (11-12, 3-5). Josh Greene contributed 15 points, and Stephen Maxwell tallied nine points and eight rebounds in the loss. The Matadors have lost five of their last six contests.

Hawaii struggled in the first half, only hitting 33.3 percent of its shots from the floor, including 3-of-11 from 3-point range. Northridge connected on 50 percent of its shots, but was outscored from the free-throw line, 5-4, and from 3-point distance, 3-2, as Hawaii took a 32-30 lead into the break.

The Warriors came out firing in the second half, netting 48.6 percent of their shot attempts, but just 2-of-13 from distance, while the Matadors hit 37 percent of their field goal tries. Hawaii outscored Northridge 45-33 in the second frame.

Hawaii held the edge in points in the paint, 38-26, and in second chance points, 21-11. Cal State Northridge slightly won the battle at the free-throw line, 15-14.
