NCAA Game Summary - Hawaii at Northern Arizona

Flagstaff, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Garrett Nevels netted 24 points, helping the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors defeat the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks, 76-66, at Walkup Skydome.

Nevels hit 9-of-15 from the field for the Rainbow Warriors (6-2), including 4- of-7 from the perimeter. Keith Shamburger tallied 15 points on 10-of-10 from the free-throw line. Brandon Spearman added another 13 points on 6-of-9 from the floor.

Gaellan Bewernick led the Lumberjacks (2-7) with 20 points on 9-of-11 from the field. Quinton Upshur (15 points), Aaseem Dixon (11) and Christopher Miller (10) also reached double figures.

There was not much to split the teams in the first half, with the Rainbow Warriors shooting 10-of-24 from the field to the Lumberjacks' 11-of-24. The score was knotted at 25-25 at the break.

The Warriors shot an improved 55.2 percent from the floor in the second half and had a distinct advantage at the line, where they knocked down 15-of-16. They led for almost the entire half and by as many as 17 points with just under five minutes left to play.

Turnovers were a huge problem for the Lumberjacks, as they gave the ball away 21 times, leading to 29 Hawaii points. The Rainbow Warriors also outscored their opponent on fast-break points, 18-6.
