NCAA Game Summary - Bradley at Southern Illinois

Carbondale, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by Anthony Beane's 27 points, the Southern Illinois Salukis defeated the Bradley Braves, 75-64, in a Missouri Valley Conference bout at SIU Arena.

The Salukis (11-17, 7-8 MVC) snapped a two-game skid with the win. Desmar Jackson added 15 points, Jalen Pendleton scored 11 and Bola Olaniyan posted a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in the win.

Walt Lemon Jr. led the Braves (11-17, 6-9), losers of three-straight, with 17 points and six assists, while Omari Grier finished with 14 points and Tyshon Pickett chipped in with 10 points.

Bradley shot the ball well to start the game, hitting on 46.6 percent of its shots from the field, including 3-of-9 from 3-point range in the first half. Despite leading by as many as 12 points in the period, the Braves had just a slight advantage at halftime, 35-33. SIU shot just 37.9 percent from the field in the first, but connected on 4-of-11 from beyond the arc in the half to keep the margin close.

The Salukis found their range after the break, knocking down 58.3 percent of their shots from the field in the second half. Bradley struggled from the floor, shooting just 34.6 percent, including 3-of-8 from 3-point range. Trailing by five in the opening minute of the half, the Salukis used a 10-1 run to take the lead for good and pulled away down the stretch to secure the win.

The Salukis had the edge in the paint, outscoring the Braves 30-24. Southern Illinois was also the better team on the glass (37-30).
