NCAA Game Summary - George Washington at Hofstra

Hempstead, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Maurice Creek scored 17 points on 6-of-9 shooting as the George Washington Colonials defeated the Hofstra Pride, 69-58, in a non-conference game at the Mack Sports Complex.

Kevin Larsen scored 14 points and brought down seven rebounds for the Colonials (11-1). Kethan Savage added 12 points.

Dion Nesmith scored 17 points and had five assists for the Pride (3-8). Zeke Upshaw scored 11 points while Darren Payen chipped in 10. Stephen Nwaukoni grabbed eight rebounds.

Hofstra shot well in the first half to take a 32-29 lead into the intermission. The Pride made 50 percent of their shots from the floor and 3- of-9 from beyond the arc. George Washington hit 47.6 percent of their field goal attempts and 4-of-10 from 3-point range. Hofstra managed to attempt five more shots than the Colonials.

The second half saw the Pride cool down and the Colonials get hot. George Washington shot 53.8 percent from the field and 4-of-6 from 3-point range. Hofstra shot a poor 34.6 percent from the floor allowing George Washington to dominate the second period.

The Colonials dominated inside, edging Hofstra, 32-18, in points in the paint. George Washington has now won six consecutive games.
