NCAA Game Summary - USC at Washington State

Pullman, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Byron Wesley tied a career high with 31 points to go with 10 rebounds, as the USC Trojans defeated the Washington State Cougars, 79-68, in a Pac-12 Conference bout at Beasley Coliseum.

Wesley shot 10-of-17 from the field and 9-of-13 at the foul line for USC (11-19, 2-15 Pac-12), which snapped a 10-game losing streak. Julian Jacobs chipped in seven points, nine assists and seven boards for the visitors.

For WSU (9-20, 2-15), losers of eight in a row, DaVonte Lacy (20 points, 10 rebounds) and D.J. Shelton (11, 11) both tallied double-doubles, while Que Johnson and Royce Woolridge netted 13 and 12 points, respectively.

After a tightly-contested first half, WSU held a slim 36-35 lead at the break after shooting 43.8 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes. USC made 48.4 percent of its tries from the floor but were outscored from 3-point range, 18-6.

The Cougars extended their advantage to nine early in the second stanza but the Trojans went on a 35-9 run over the next 13 minutes to pull away.

USC won the rebounding battle, 40-34, and outscored WSU in the paint, 40-22.
