NCAA Game Summary - Louisiana Tech at UAB

Birmingham, AL (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Anderson netted 20 points on 7- of-12 shooting from the floor as the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs edged out the UAB Blazers, 67-58, in a Conference USA bout at Bartow Arena.

Kenyon McNeail chipped in 14 points off the bench, hitting 4-of-9 from 3-point range for Louisiana Tech (24-6, 12-3 C-USA). Kenneth Smith tallied a team- high eight assists and added five rebounds in the win, which was the third in a row for the Bulldogs.

Fahro Alihodzic notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds to lead UAB (18-11, 7-8), while Rod Rucker also registered a double-double at 12 points and 12 boards. Chad Frazier contributed 10 points and three steals in the loss. The Blazers ended a three-game winning streak with the defeat.

Louisiana Tech connected on 50 percent of its field goal attempts in the first half, including 9-of-18 from 3-point range, to take a 44-36 lead at the half. UAB hit 43.8 percent of its shots in the frame, but made only one of its six 3-point tries.

The Bulldogs took a dive down to 26.9 percent shooting in the second half, including just 1-of-9 from deep. Fortunately for Louisiana Tech, the Blazers' shooting went south as well. UAB netted just 25.8 percent of its shots in the period, and missed all seven 3-point field goal attempts.

Louisiana Tech had the advantage in bench points, 22-16, and outscored UAB from 3-point range, 30-3. The Blazers had the edge in rebounding, 47-35, and in points in the paint, 38-18.
