NCAA Game Summary - Southern Miss at Florida Atlantic

Boca Raton, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Daveon Boardingham scored 24 points to lead the Southern Miss Golden Eagles to a 60-49 victory over the Florida Atlantic Owls in Conference USA action at FAU Arena.

Aaron Brown netted 15 points in support for Southern Miss (25-5, 12-3 C-USA), which is now tied with Middle Tennessee for the top spot in the conference with a game to play.

Justin Raffington netted 14 points and Jackson Trapp and Marquan Botley each chipped in 11 for FAU (10-20, 5-10), which has lost five straight. Tyler Pate chimed in with 10 points.

Southern Miss only connected on 36.4 percent from the floor in the first half, but it hit 13-of-18 at the free-throw line and limited FAU to 28.6 percent shooting, as it claimed a 31-24 halftime advantage.

The Golden Eagles' efforts at the free-throw line carried it once again in the second half, as they made up for a 33.3 percent shooting performance, by sinking 15-of-19 at the charity stripe. FAU had only eight field goals in the final 20 minutes.

Southern Miss outscored FAU, 19-5, off of turnovers.
