NCAA Game Summary - Seton Hall at DePaul

Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Brandon Young scored 19 points, leading four starters in double figures, as the DePaul Blue Demons captured a 65-60 win over the Seton Hall Pirates in Big East Conference action at Allstate Arena.

Billy Garrett and Durrell McDonald both tallied 15 points for the Blue Demons (11-18, 3-13 Big East), followed by Sandi Marcius with 10 and a game-high nine rebounds as the team snapped a lengthy 10-game slide.

The Pirates (14-14, 5-10) were led by Fuquan Edwin with a game-high 21 points on 9-of-17 shooting from the floor, followed by Jaren Sina with 12 points on a perfect 4-of-4 showing behind the 3-point line as the team lost for the fifth time in six tries.

DePaul started the meeting a perfect 6-of-6 from the floor, but also suffered five turnovers as the squad put together a solid 10-0 early on. The hosts kept the pressure on for the rest of the period, en route to a 38-29 lead at the break. The Blue Demons shot a sizzling 71.4 percent from the floor through the first 20 minutes of action, including 4-of-8 beyond the arc.

In the second half the hosts fell to just 42.9 percent accuracy from the field, opening the door for Seton Hall to come all the way back and in fact take a six-point advantage seven minutes into the period. However, the Blue Demons regained their composure and used a perfect 13-of-13 effort at the free-throw line to secure the win.

DePaul won the rebounding battle, 24-16, in order to overcome 17 turnovers. Credited with a mere two offensive boards, the Blue Demons also outscored the Pirates at the free-throw line by a lopsided 17-5 margin.
