NCAA Game Summary - UAB at Charlotte

Charlotte, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Chad Frazier had 16 points and Fahro Alihodzic tipped in the winning bucket with 14 seconds remaining, as the UAB Blazers notched a 64-62 win over the Charlotte 49ers in Conference USA action at Halton Arena.

C.J. Washington contributed 14 points and nine rebounds for the Blazers (17-10, 6-7 C-USA).

Pierria Henry led the way with 16 points for the 49ers (14-12, 5-8), who suffered their fifth consecutive loss. Terrence Williams and Shawn Lester rounded out the double-digit scorers with 14 and 12 points, respectively.

Charlotte jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead, but UAB overtook the lead midway through the opening frame and went up by as many as five with just under seven minutes to play until halftime. The half eventually ended with the score tied, 38-38.

The second half featured four ties and six lead changes, although the teams combined to shoot just 32 percent from the floor. Henry hit a 3-pointer to tie the score at 62-62 with 41 seconds remaining in regulation. Frazier missed a jumper at the other end, but Alihodzic was there to put back the rebound for what turned out to be the deciding basket. Frazier came up with a steal on Charlotte's final possession to seal the win for the Blazers.

UAB held a 43-38 rebounding advantage for the game and also outscored the 49ers at the foul line, 16-8.
