NCAA Game Summary - Miami-Florida at Virginia Tech

Blacksburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Devin Wilson tallied 12 points and dished out nine assists as the Virginia Tech Hokies outlasted the Miami Hurricanes, 52-45, in an Atlantic Coast Conference bout at Cassell Coliseum.

C.J. Barksdale came off the bench to score 12 points, adding seven boards to his resume for Virginia Tech (9-15, 2-10 ACC). Trevor Thompson pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds in the contest. The win snaps a 10-game losing skid for the Hokies.

Garrius Adams netted a game-high 13 points for Miami (12-13, 3-9), adding seven rebounds and four assists. Rion Brown notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds in the loss, which was the third in four games for the 'Canes.

Virginia Tech shot 36.4 percent from the floor in the first half of the contest, and took a slim 19-15 lead at the intermission. Miami connected on a miserable 18.5 percent of its field goal tries, including 3-of-17 from 3-point range.

The Hokies slightly improved their shooting in the second half, bumping their accuracy up to 37.5 percent from the floor, adding 12-of-19 from the free- throw line. Miami upped its percentage to 32.3 from the field, but lost more ground on Virginia Tech in the period.

The Hokies had the edge in points in the paint, 20-14, and in points off turnovers, 6-2. Miami held a 10-6 advantage in second chance points.
