NCAA Game Summary - Pepperdine at Portland

Portland, OR (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryan Nicholas scored 21 points as the Portland Pilots rolled past the Pepperdine Waves, 74-62, in a West Coast Conference clash at the Chiles Center.

Thomas van der Mars had 15 points on 6-of-9 field goal shooting for the Pilots (15-11, 7-7 WCC), who have won two straight games. Tanner Riley added 10 points while Bryce Pressley cleared seven rebounds.

Malcolm Brooks finished with 15 points for the Waves (14-13, 7-8), who have lost three in a row. Stacey Davis chipped in 12 points and Brendan Lane logged a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Portland made 44.4 percent of its shots from the field in the first half, including 6-of-14 from 3-point range, as it led 40-33 at the break. Pepperdine shot just 37.9 percent on its field goal attempts in the opening stanza.

The Pilots connected on 47.8 percent of their field goal tries in the second period. Over the final five minutes, Portland went on a 13-4 run to close out the game.

Despite losing, the Waves outscored Portland 28-20 in the paint.
