NCAA Game Summary - Old Dominion at Florida Atlantic

Boca Raton, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Keenan Palmore led the way with 15 points as the Old Dominion Monarchs took down the Florida Atlantic Owls, 65-60, in a Conference USA contest at FAU Arena.

For the Monarchs (9-9, 3-0 C-USA), Denzell Taylor added 14 points and Richard Ross scored 10.

Justin Raffington posted a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Owls (6-12, 2-2), while Pablo Bertone scored 14, Marquan Botley finished with 12 points and D'Andre Johnson chipped in with 10.

FAU shot 43.5 percent from the field to open the game, including 2-of-7 from 3-point range, as the Owls took at 26-21 lead at the break. They held ODU to just 28 percent shooting from the floor, but the Monarchs did manage to connect on 2-of-5 from beyond the arc in the half.

After intermission, ODU caught fire and knocked down 72.7 percent of its field goal tries, including 2-of-6 from deep. FAU did its best to keep pace, shooting 52.2 percent in the second half and 5-of-8 from 3-point distance. Trailing 53-50 with just over five minutes to play, the Monarchs ran off eight-straight points to take a 58-53 lead that they would hold on down the stretch to pull out the victory.

ODU had the edge in points in the paint, 24-20. FAU had the advantage on the glass, outrebounding the Monarchs 35-25.
