NCAA Game Summary - Florida Atlantic at DePaul

Rosemont, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - Cleveland Melvin and Sandi Marcius each scored 19 points to lead the DePaul Blue Demons past the Florida Atlantic Owls, 81-70, at Allstate Arena.

Marcius also pulled down 12 rebounds, while Billy Garrett and Brandon Young chipped in 14 and 12 points, respectively, for DePaul (5-4), which avoid a fourth loss in five games by shooting 52.5 percent from the floor.

Florida Atlantic (3-7) had its two-game winning streak snapped even though Pablo Bertone poured in 30 points and Jackson Trapp netted 17 in defeat.

Despite Bertone going for 17 points in the first half, the Blue Demons led by a slim 38-37 margin at the break thanks to Melvin's late tip-in.

DePaul never trailed in the second half and put the game away when Melvin went on a personal 7-2 run after the Owls had cut their deficit to four.

Melvin started the quick flurry with two free throws, added a 3-pointer on the ensuing possession and threw down a dunk for a 69-60 DePaul lead with just over four minutes to play, proving to be enough to all but seal the outcome.
