<p>LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP)  Jordan Naughton had 20 points and 12 rebounds, both career highs, to help Wyoming beat Division II Western State 88-49 in Friday night's opener under first-year coach Allen Edwards.</p>
<p>Alexander Aka Gorski scored a career-high 20 points, hitting 5 of 8 from long distance, and made four assists for Wyoming. The Cowboys shot 52.5 percent, including 14 of 34 3-pointers, and held the Mountaineers to 32 percent, just 6 of 21 behind the arc.</p>
<p>Naughton had 12 points and 10 rebounds in the first half to help Wyoming to a 49-23 lead and the Cowboys continued to pull away.</p>

<p>Edwards served five seasons as an assistant under former Wyoming coach Larry Shyatt.</p>
<p>Brady Subart scored 11 points off the bench for Western State and Collin Smith grabbed nine rebounds.</p>
