The New York Knicks (31-47) have four games remaining before yet another throwaway campaign reaches its conclusion. While the team has nothing to play for at this point, leading scorer Carmelo Anthony has every intention to compete until the final buzzer sounds April 12.

Anthony said Tuesday he'll return to action Wednesday when the Knicks host the visiting Charlotte Hornets at Madison Square Garden. He sat out Sunday's 92-87 loss to the Indiana Pacers for rest.

The nine-time All-Star also revealed he plans to suit up for the three remaining games as well. The Knicks will be on the road to take on the Philadelphia 76ers on April 8, return home April 10 to face Atlantic Division rivals the Toronto Raptors, and then close the season April 12 on the road against the Indiana Pacers.

New York is 0-9 this season when Anthony doesn't play. He's set to earn $25-27 million in each of the next three seasons, with a player option for 2018-19.

In 69 appearances this season, Anthony is averaging 22 points on 43.4 percent shooting, along with 7.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 35.4 minutes.
