Al Jefferson (quad) is officially out for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers.

Jefferson (quad) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Cavaliers, Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com reports.

Analysis:

Jefferson tried to warm up, but came to the decision afterwards that he wasn't ready to play just yet due to the ailment. Since his injury is just being labeled as a quad contusion, Jefferson figures to get back on the court before the season concludes, though the team could still opt to rest him on select occasion with the Hornets already having clinched a playoff berth. Rookie Frank Kaminsky and Spencer Hawes will likely see increased playing time while Jefferson remains out.
