Report: Clippers to rest Paul, Redick, Jordan vs. Thunder on Thursday
Sitting four-and-a-half games back of the Oklahoma City Thunder with eight games remaining, the Los Angeles Clippers' chances of capturing the No. 3 seed appears next to nil heading into the season's final weeks.
With that in mind, head coach Doc Rivers has chosen to sit starters Chris Paul, J.J. Redick, and DeAndre Jordan for Thursday night's affair against the Thunder, sources told Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.
The trio of Paul, Redick, and Jordan have been integral to the Clippers' success this season, as Los Angeles has remained near the top of conference standings despite missing All-Star power forward Blake Griffin for the majority of the year.
With Memphis sitting six-and-a-half games back of the Clippers, Los Angeles is a virtual lock to capture the No. 4 seed in the Western Conference.
Undermanned, the Clippers will need big games from some of their role players if they hope to extend their four-game winning streak at Chesapeake Energy Arena on Thursday.
