Before the internet flooded itself with the latest round of Crying M.J. memes, His Airness himself offered his congratulations to the Golden State Warriors for breaking a 20-year record held by his 1995-96 Chicago Bulls.

"I want to congratulate the Warriors on their amazing season," Michael Jordan said in a statement following Golden State's record-breaking 73rd win of the season. "The game of basketball is always evolving and records are made to be broken. The Warriors have been a lot of fun to watch and I look forward to seeing what they do in the playoffs."

Led by Jordan in his first full season back on the court following his nearly two-year hiatus, the 1995-96 Bulls went 72-10 before winning their first of three consecutive championships and fourth of six overall.

The defending champion, 73-win Warriors will look to repeat as champions when they open their postseason quest Saturday afternoon against the Houston Rockets.
