Kerr: Most proud of Warriors not losing consecutive games

Cary Edmondson-USA TODAY Sports

They're not going to win them all, as the San Antonio Spurs, Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Detroit Pistons, Denver Nuggets, Dallas Mavericks, and Milwaukee Bucks can attest.

But the Golden State Warriors haven't lost two in a row this season, a trend they continued with Monday's 109-104 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. In fact, they became only the third team in NBA history to go 70 games without consecutive losses.

And while the team remains on pace to break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' all-time best record of 72-10, the resilience factor is what Dubs head coach Steve Kerr seems most impressed with.

"We haven't lost two in a row all year," Kerr said after Monday's victory. "That's probably what I'm most proud of."

That's something those '96 Bulls - of which Kerr was a member - cannot even say. Those eventual NBA champions had one two-game losing skid that season - the back end to Charles Barkley's Phoenix Suns on Feb. 6, 1996.

The road is not over for Golden State, however. They play rival Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday and end the month on a back-to-back ending in Utah against the Jazz. The final four games of the season feature an odd gauntlet of four games against two teams - the Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies. The middle two games include a road back-to-back.

The Warriors must go 10-2 down the stretch to set a new NBA regular-season wins record.
