Warriors' Green on 73 wins: 'We're going after it'
Despite dropping a season-low 79 points in Saturday night's defeat to the San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green is still confident about his team's chances of reaching 73 wins.
"I'm not going to shy away from saying we want the record," Green told Scott Cacciola of the New York Times. "Absolutely we want it, and we're going after it."
After beginning the season with 24 straight victories, the Warriors have been considered a threat to break the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' 72-win campaign. However, head coach Steve Kerr said earlier this month that resting "will take precedence" over chasing the record.
Golden State (62-7) will need to go 11-2 the rest of the way to reach 73 victories, with two more games to play against the Spurs.
